The river is located 2,5 km to the SW of Agia Paraskevi and its estuary is between the Kalloni Salt Pans and the Messa wetland.<\/p>\n<p>Milopotamos River springs are found within the pine forest and it is formed by two tributary streams that meet 4 km away from the sea.<\/p>\n<p>The estuary, which is 0,70 hectares wide, joins with one end of the peripheral canal of the Kalloni Pans.<\/p>\n<p>A few days ago, Flamingos, Cormorants, yellow-legged, Black-headed and Slender-billed Gulls, Greenshanks, Kingfishers, etc. were recorded here.<\/p>\n<p>It is an exceptional site to observe migrant birds as the river vegetation is left relatively intact (reeds and tamarisks).<\/p>\n<p>Every year, the estuary and lower parts of its bed support breeding pairs of Little Ringed and Kentish Plover, Ruddy and Common Shelducks, Nightingales, Olivaceous and Cetti\u2019s Warblers, Bee-eaters, etc.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","categories-thesis":[207],"geologikes-thesis":[],"oikologikes-thesis":[220],"politistikes-thesis":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.lesvosgeopark.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/poi\/7175"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.lesvosgeopark.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/poi"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.lesvosgeopark.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/poi"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.lesvosgeopark.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=7175"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"categories-thesis","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.lesvosgeopark.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories-thesis?post=7175"},{"taxonomy":"geologikes-thesis","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.lesvosgeopark.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/geologikes-thesis?post=7175"},{"taxonomy":"oikologikes-thesis","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.lesvosgeopark.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/oikologikes-thesis?post=7175"},{"taxonomy":"politistikes-thesis","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.lesvosgeopark.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/politistikes-thesis?post=7175"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
