Αrtificial Lake of Pythariou Monastery

It is located 2.2 km east of Eressos and occupies 227 acres. Completed in 2002 for irrigation purposes, it is earthen with a clay core and natural waterproofing.

It is fed by the Chalandra stream (which used to flow into Psaropotamos) and is surrounded by degraded scrub, natural tree and shrub vegetation, tree crops, and pastures.
