Sanqingshan UNESCO Globa Geopark is located in Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province, Asia Pacific Region. It covers an area of 229.5 square kilometers, with an altitude of 200m to 1819.9m. It is a large Geopark of China. It has been recognized as a National Geopark in 2005 and a World Heritage Site in 2008 due to its unique aesthetic and scientific values. In September 2012, Sanqingshan became a member of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network.

The natural beauty of Sanqingshan Mountain is related to the granitic features with the mountain vegetation enhanced by the weather conditions that create a changing and beautiful landscape.
Sanqingshan Mountain is a remarkable book on geomorphology, with landforms and landscape aesthetics of great scientific value. The Geopark preserves the evidence of an almost continuous record of the geological evolution of about a billion years, with numerous stratigraphic, petrographic and geomorphological elements of important geological events of the broader area. Sanqingshan Mountain is a famous eternal mountain not only for its one billion-year geological history, but also as a typical model of harmonious coexistence between man and nature for 1,600 years. It was called the “Open Air Museum of Taoism”.
Twinning
Sanqingshan UNESCO Global Geopark, China and Lesvos Island UNESCO Global Geopark, Greece signed a twinning agreement on September 15, 2012.
