The master craftsmen Dimitrios Meimaris and the Tinian marble sculptor Petros Vekios were involved in the elaboration of the plans, while for the interior decoration artisans from Italy were brought in. The large matroneum with its nine semi-circular balconies with remarkable decoration, as well as the general icon painting and the artistic decoration of the ceiling with plaster floral themes and scenes from the Bible, is impressive.
The marble iconostasis is a creation of the sculptor Giannoulis Halepas, made of white marble in 1878, according to the inscription: “IOANNIS HALEPAS TINIOS EPOEI 1878”. According to the church records, its construction cost 131,420 grosci. The doors are carved in wood and come from the old smaller iconostasis of the previous church, which was transferred to the chapel of St. Nikolaou of Skala Pamphilon. The wood-carved also high-priestly throne and the pulpit with motifs from the plant and animal environment come from the oldest temple and were built in 1786.
A part of the relic of St. is kept in the temple. great martyr Varvara in a special reliquary. Many images are also treasured, with the main one of greatest historical value being that of St. Theodore of Byzantium, which was created in 1798, just three years after the saint’s martyrdom. Important relics, great works of ecclesiastical art, old books and documents from the period 1767-1866 are kept in the sacristy of the church.
