It is located 400 m west of Skala Eressos and occupies an area of 36 crowns.
The vegetation consists mainly of reeds (Arundo donax and Phragmites australis), wicks (Vitex agnus-castus), tamarisks (Tamarix spp.), plane trees (Platanus orientalis) and rushes (Juncus spp.), while its fauna includes the two water turtles of the island (Emys orbicularis and Mauremys rivulata), as well as the frog (Pelophylax bedriagae).
